How to Remove Hard Drive From Laptop Before Recycling

Replace any (or all) of the drives, and plug the new drives into the other 4 ports (A, B, C, D) of the alumina computer from your previous owner. Usually, when consumers just replace the drives, they exclusionally never look at the data they took with them. This is a serious safety concern. Failure to keep backups on the other ports can result in monetary losses, damaged equipment and computer meltdowns. Start by unscrewing the plastic/rubber insert that contacting clips holding the hard drive in place.  Carefully and slowly remove the hard drive from its housing. DO NOT FORCE IT! You know it’s there and there’s nothing you can do if you push it. Carefully and slowly place the hard drive in the trash or return it to the original port. Don’t make any permanent damage. With the hard drive removed, accurately remove the old hard drive spindle assembly from the other 4 ports. For most laptops, it is located on the right.
